An expert assessment built on data, context and gastronomic judgement.
Perched at the entrance to Porto Cervo's Promenade du Port, Zamira Lounge has been the aperitivo destination of choice since opening in 2012, drawing a mix of yacht crew, villa guests, and locals who know better than to chase the glitzier spots down the hill. The draw here is simple: expertly balanced cocktails, a carefully curated selection of Tuscan reds and prestige champagnes, and one of the most enviable sunset vantage points over the Gulf of Porto Cervo. It's the kind of place where the service knows your name by the second round, the music never overpowers conversation, and the view does most of the heavy lifting—though the kitchen's tuna tartare and Sardinian pasta deserve their own following.
Arrive at least an hour before sunset to claim a table near the railing—once golden hour hits, it's standing room only and the best views are gone.
Four dimensions, each assessed independently against the same criteria everywhere we rate.
While the focus here is firmly on the bar program, the kitchen turns out surprisingly confident small plates that go beyond typical aperitivo fare. The tuna tartare shows proper knife work and restraint with seasoning, while the Sardinian pasta nods to local tradition without overdoing the tourist nostalgia. Caprese salads arrive with quality produce, though on busy evenings freshness can occasionally slip—stick to the specialties and you'll be rewarded.
The energy builds steadily through the afternoon, peaking at golden hour when every table fills with sun-soaked guests clutching spritzes and Negronis, all angled toward the yachts bobbing below. Music selection leans sophisticated—lounge-inflected house and nu-jazz that complements rather than competes—and the crowd skews relaxed, with none of the posturing you'll find at Porto Cervo's more self-conscious venues. By 9 pm, the terrace empties as diners migrate elsewhere, making it ideal for a civilized start to the evening rather than a late-night destination.
The brigade here operates with genuine warmth and professionalism, a refreshing departure from the transactional service that plagues Costa Smeralda's tourist circuit. Regulars are greeted by name, champagne arrives properly chilled, and the team navigates busy service with calm efficiency. That said, when the terrace is slammed at sunset, expect occasional delays—patience is rewarded with attentive care once they catch their breath.
The terrace design is understated and smart, prioritizing sightlines over flashy decor, with lounge seating that encourages lingering and low tables perfect for sharing small plates. Positioned above the Promenade du Port, it captures both the marina views and the late afternoon sun, which floods the space with that particular Sardinian light that turns prosecco into liquid gold. The interior is secondary—this is fundamentally an outdoor experience, and the design wisely gets out of the way of the scenery.
These four dimensions are a handful of the attributes we review. The Insider Rating also draws on research the compass does not display — among them the wine programme, the size and quality of the cellar, the location, and how long the house has operated. It is not an average of the scores above.
