About Restaurante Maca de Castro

Macarena de Castro's acclaimed restaurant in Alcúdia stands as a profound expression of Mallorcan terroir, where avant-garde technique meets deep respect for island tradition. Holding one Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability, the kitchen sources ninety percent of its produce from the restaurant's own farm in Sa Pobla, delivering a tasting menu that reads like a journey through the island's landscapes. Set in a villa-style building with a romantic garden, this is destination dining for those who want to understand Mallorca beyond the beaches—a place where innovation and locality are inseparable.

Good to know

Book well in advance and communicate any dietary restrictions early—the kitchen handles modifications with real creativity rather than simple omissions.

The chef

Macarena de Castro

Macarena de Castro trained at the Escola d'Hoteleria of the Balearic Islands before embarking on a remarkable education under some of the world's most innovative chefs, including stages with Hilario Arbelaitz at Zuberoa, Andoni Luis Aduriz at Mugaritz, and Wylie Dufresne at WD-50 in New York, along with time at Jean Coussau's Relais de la Poste in France. Since opening her eponymous restaurant, she has built a reputation for radical locality and sustainability, earning recognition from the International Academy of Gastronomy and the Ramón Llull de les Illes Balears award. Her philosophy centers on letting Mallorcan ingredients speak through modern technique, with a farm-to-table approach that sees the restaurant cultivate ninety percent of its own produce, making sustainability not a trend but the foundation of her craft.
